You are a beautiful treasure -- loved a lot more than you know. More special than you can imagine.
Many of us go through life wondering "why am I here?", or somesuch nebulous thought, and we often arrive at some "inescapable" conclusion that we're not here for anything special, just to go through the motions of life until it comes to an end. I'm here to tell you: THAT-SIMPLY-IS-NOT-TRUE!
That's a lie so oft spoken, and so oft believed that it seems, truly, inescapable. You are fearfully, wonderfully made! You are beautiful! This is not an exercise in vanity, as some of the "pious elite" would tell you! It is the very statement of God! Look at the wonderfulness around you & realize that you see it with eyes made perfectly to capture the moment! Listen to the sounds around you, even the cacophony of the busy city, and know that your ears are shaped so to majestically focus the sounds into something coherent for your marvelous brain to understand! Walk in the garden, or your own backyard, and give thanks that you are able to move in such a fashion! Touch a friend or loved one on the shoulder, and sing praises that you can feel & understand tenderness!
See? You ARE beautiful!
Consider George Bailey -- yes, the guy from "It's A Wonderful Life"
-- he felt as you do; he understood the pressures of life, love, and finances. George even went so far as to consider suicide to provide for his family! Yet, when given an opportunity to see "life" as such that he never existed, George began to realize just how important, how beautiful, he really is! His life means something!
Sure, we'll not likely have an angel offer the same as Clarence did to George, but you can think about it, can't you? Picture your mother, had you never been born. Yes, it is easy to think of all of the "bad" things you had done as a child, but think about the cutesy drawings you created for her; think of the times you helped her cook, or clean; think of the many smiles you have given her. If you have children, think, as your mother, about the joys you experience as a parent then transpose yourself into your child's position & look at your mom now. She's beautiful, too, and moreso because you are her child!
If it helps, when you wake up, feeling down, think of your friends, think of your family, think of your boss -- have you ever helped save someone's life? have you ever helped clean the leaves out of their yard? have you ever taken the blame for something you didn't do, just to keep someone else out of trouble? have you ever not done something for yourself, so to help someone else? have you ever donated so much as a quarter (25¢ US) to a homeless person, or charity?
You ARE beautiful!
